This interactive course is designed by the ICMA Centre faculty for those who are undertaking postgraduate study in any finance-orientated subject.
Throughout the 15-hours course, you will:
- Appreciate the purpose of finance and investment.
- Understand the main types of investment and financial markets.
- Examine the process of valuing investments.
- Explore the role of risk and return in investment performance.
Short course: Future of work – coding with Python for business & finance
Coding remains an extremely powerful and sought-after skill in all business and financial areas.
This 15-hour online course introduces you to the fundamentals of the Python coding language, as you learn how to use it to solve practical problems in your area of interest.
Short course: Building blocks of maths and stats for finance
This course prepares you for studying finance at postgraduate level - even if you don't have a finance, maths, or quants background.
You will cover topics including:
- operations
- functions
- variables
- matrices
- optimisations.
Some courses might require those without the relevant quants or maths qualifications to complete this course and gain at least 50% in the final test to gain entry onto their chose course. If this is the case, it will be clearly started on your offer letter.

The Python pre-course is fantastic. It helped me to study the Econometrics module in my MSc course well, as I had not had any coding experience in my accounting degree before. I loved the wonderful study experience and the contents were also very attractive.
