Overview

This programme is designed to further upskill individuals who have earned our Postgraduate Diploma for Business Administration. It presents additional modules to expand on their existing knowledge, enabling them to lead with greater expertise. Completion of this course provides the opportunity to achieve the Henley Flexible Executive MBA.

Please note: a Flexible Executive MBA cohort may not be immediately available, and a learner may need to wait for 6–12 months following their Senior Leader Apprenticeship | Business Administration. All workshop and assignment submission dates are subject to change by Henley Business School. Henley Business School reserves the right to postpone an intake start date if the minimum number of students is not reached.

Cohorts start two to three times per year. The start date depends on the date a learner successfully completes their Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration.

Fellow students may have studied the Senior Leader Apprenticeship | Business Administration or Stages 1 and 2 of the MBA.

To join this programme, individuals will need to have successfully completed the following:

  • Senior Leader Apprenticeship | Business Administration, including the end-point assessment (EPA)*
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration. This is the post-apprenticeship programme academic assessment. The work-based projects of Learners who have requested the Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration will be assessed and Learners will be notified that they have met the requirements and that their credits will be awarded towards Stages 1 and 2 of the MBA. They can then progress to complete the MBA.

Stage 3 of the Henley Flexible Executive MBA requires further study and a fee of £12,000.

Discounts

An early bird discount of 25% is available to all learners who express an interest in progressing onto the MBA before the end of Stage 1 of the Senior Leader Apprenticeship | Business Administration.

To express an interest, learners should fill in the Expression of Interest form. A link to this form will be provided in the Senior Leader Apprenticeship offer letter and from Canvas.

Once the early bird deadline has passed, the full MBA tuition fee will be applicable. No exceptions or extensions to this deadline will be available.

The final stage of the Flexible Executive MBA lasts for nine months. It begins with a two-day starter workshop to orient learners onto the MBA, focussing on personal development and research skills.

There are three compulsory modules and an elective module:

Compulsory modules Credits

The Management Research Challenge (MRC) is a major project that offers the apprenticeship learner the opportunity to demonstrate practical research skills in identifying a significant organisational issue, problem or gap in management knowledge. They will design an appropriate data collection and analysis process and present the supported recommendations for practice.

It aims to:

  • Develop knowledge and understanding of key research skills for a management based investigation;
  • Prepare, implement and evaluate an appropriate research process that investigates a relevant business issue, management question or gap in knowledge;
  • Demonstrate awareness of appropriate use of methodology, theory, data, and critical use of literature;
  • Undertake a piece of original research in management and present findings and recommendations in line with the type of project chosen;
  • Integrate and consolidate learning from relevant MBA subject areas and apply this to a real business problem or gap in knowledge .

This module enables learners to develop their leadership capability and strengthen their change leadership expertise.

Through exploration of the links between leadership, the change context, organisational culture, leadership values, behaviours and change practice, leearners will be able to make informed decisions about how to utilise the leadership and change resources at their disposal.

The Personal Development Workshop focuses on finding self-awareness and growth within a framework of sustainable individual health and wellbeing in a managerial context.

Learners must complete one additional, elective module (self-study online). The options include:

  • Relationship Marketing

Professional development

We run additional professional development events online, to help learners build their network, deepen their knowledge and help them meet their career goals.

Learners can also book appointments with an experienced Executive Coach to discuss anything related to their professional development. Appointments are confidential and learners can meet in person, over the phone or virtually.

Modules or course content marked as optional are indicative and may be subject to change. Please note, constraints in timetable scheduling may mean you are unable to take some optional modules at the same time as others.
