Chinese Overseas Mergers and Acquisitions Project
Professor Yipeng Liu has led a research project on Chinese cross-border mergers and acquisitions over the last decade. Increasingly, Chinese companies are pursuing strategic asset-seeking acquisitions in the advanced economies since 2000.
Studying post-acquisition integration management from an organisational perspective could help explain performance variation of cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
A series of research output has been published, exploring how Chinese companies manage their overseas targets after the acquisitions. A paper titled 'Light‐Touch Integration of Chinese Cross‐Border Mergers and Acquisitions: The Influences of Culture and Absorptive Capacity' was presented at the China Goes Global conference at Harvard Kennedy School in Boston and later published in the Thunderbird International Business Review. This paper is regarded as the very first paper examining integration management from an organisational perspective in the context of Chinese cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
