Henley in Semicolon Africa Group

Doing Business in Africa (DBIA)

In partnership with Lagos Business School, DBIA is a high-impact executive course designed to equip business owners and executives with the knowledge to navigate Africa’s dynamic business environment. In February 2024, we welcomed 10 participants to Henley Greenlands Campus for an immersive four-day program, offering insights into strategies, organisational models, and market opportunities.

Executive Leadership Training (2024)

Henley hosted 7 senior managers from the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) for a three-day customised leadership program at Greenlands.

Middle Management Leadership Programme (2023–2024)

Henley’s visiting faculty collaborated with Lagos Business School to deliver a leadership program for 90 middle-level managers from a major oil & gas company in Nigeria.

Adcademy – A Business Approach to Marketing Communications (2021–2022)

Henley delivered three short courses for the advertising industry, training 147 early, middle, and senior managers in marketing and entrepreneurship.

Think Like a GM at X3M (2023)

A tailored leadership program for 12 senior managers at X3M Ideas, enhancing their leadership capabilities within global and African business environments.

The Board Directors Programme (2023)

A two-day intensive training at Henley Greenlands Campus, providing board governance best practices for a LSETF board member.

Leadership Conversations (2022)

A bespoke executive leadership program delivered to four executives from LSETF at Henley Greenlands.

The Global Gig Economy Course (2018)

A one-day masterclass for 47 senior executives in Nigeria’s film industry, offering insights into global creative sector opportunities.

Fashion Futures Program (2022)

A six-day virtual course in collaboration with Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) and Parsons School of Design, delivered to 45 participants in partnership with Henley South Africa’s Virtual Learning team.

Nigeria Creative Economy Catalyst – MTN Yellow Star Reality Show

In partnership with Afrinolly Creative Hub and Berklee College of Music USA, Henley trained 11,898 young talents in Creative Entrepreneurship, preparing them for success in the music industry.

The Nexus Project – British Council Going Global Partnerships (IAU)

The Innovation for African Universities (IAU) Project was designed to strengthen Africa–UK higher education partnerships, enhancing universities’ roles within entrepreneurship ecosystems across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa. Delivered from 2021–2024, the project aimed to build institutional capacity for entrepreneurship engagement. Through the Nexus Project (Phases 1–3), we directly impacted 117 young entrepreneurs in Nigeria, equipping them with critical skills for business success.

Semicolon Techpreneurship Programme

Since 2019, Henley Business School has collaborated with Semicolon Africa, a leading tech education organisation, to deliver Business Management training to aspiring techpreneurs. This initiative has empowered 547 young entrepreneurs across 19 cohorts, preparing them to drive innovation and economic transformation in Africa’s fast-growing tech sector.

Gidi Creative Skills Programme

Commissioned by the Lagos State Government and Temple Management Company in 2022, Henley provided training on Business Acumen and Entrepreneurial Mindset for Creatives, benefiting 153 students.

Nigeria Creative Enterprise Support (NICE) Project (2019)

A British Council & FCO initiative focused on development of talent and innovation within Fashion and Film sectors of the arts and creative industries, empowering 54 creative entrepreneurs in Nigeria with business skills and knowledge for building and sustaining profitable businesses.

Creative Enterprise Support Programme (CESP) Project (2020)

The British Council Creative Enterprise Support Programme consisting of business development training, mentoring and support was jointly delivered by Henley to 60 young and emerging musicians in Accra, Ghana.

Most of our work in West Africa has been funded through Grants from the British Council and Innovate UK with a total of £535,000 secured since 2019.
