Dr Olena Khlystova is a Lecturer in Management and Organisational Behaviour at Henley Business School.

Her research interests include the economics and management of creative industries, regional dynamics in Europe and Asia, organisational and regional resilience theories, research methods in management research and business education. In particular, she studies how external shocks moderate organisational resilience and company behaviour in different economic sectors. Her earlier research examined how external shocks (e.g. the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2008 Great Recession crisis) affected the behaviour of firms in Europe's creative industries.

Olena mainly applies systematic literature reviews and qualitative methods in her research, which has been published in three star Chartered Association of Business Schools (ABS) journals in the field of business and management, such as the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Technology Transfer and the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research. She has delivered international research projects on business education and accelerating research impact, organised international events (e.g. policy forums, conferences, competitions) and collected and analysed primary data in the Euro-Asian region.

She has undertaken many teaching and research roles during her career, with four years of teaching business and management disciplines for undergraduate and doctoral students. She holds a PhD in Management from Henley Business School, the University of Reading, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
