Location
Kaio's primary area of investigation focuses on the property development industry and its interaction with various planning systems. He is interested in exploring the different aspects of this intersection through a variety of theoretical approaches, including neo-institutionalism and political economy.
Before joining Reading, Kaio worked as a research associate at the Laboratory of Urban and Regional Studies and Planning (LEPUR), where he developed research projects on topics such as land value capture, property vacancy, and financialisation.
At Reading, Kaio teaches a range of modules related to property development, urban design, international planning, and sustainability in real estate.
