Kaio holds a MSc degree in Territorial Planning and Management and a BSc degree in Urban and Environmental Engineering both from the Federal University of ABC (Brazil). His PhD research seeks to explore the economic aspects of the zoning planning system in Sao Paulo, especially those directly related to real estate activity and land market in the city in recent years.
Prior to his period at Henley Business School, Kaio worked as a research associate in the Laboratory of Urban and Regional Studies and Planning (LEPUR) where he developed his master’s thesis on the impacts of Land Value Capture mechanism on real estate activity.
Kaio integrates research groups both in the Federal University of ABC and in the University of Sao Paulo, investigating the effectiveness of urban planning instruments and the making of urban financialisation in Brazil.
