Henley joins celebration of Lloyds Banking Group apprentices

Having previously graduated from Henley’s Greenlands campus in September 2022, the event gave the alumni the opportunity to celebrate with senior Lloyds Banking Group executives and colleagues.

Lloyds Banking Group CEO Charlie Nunn and Chairman Robin Budenberg both congratulated the group and gave talks about the value of continued learning for both individuals and the business. There was also the opportunity for apprenticeship graduates to ask questions of both execs.

A ‘Fireside Chat’ was held with Henley’s Director of Development and Alumni, Jean-Pierre Choulet, and Captain Alistair Willis, a highly experienced change leader and Henley MBA alumnus with an outstanding and diverse career spanning the Royal Navy, the private sector and the Ministry of Defence.

Inspiring testimonials were also heard from Lloyds Banking Group graduates Diana Bywater and Frankie Robinson, who outlined their experiences of studying at Henley and expressed what graduating meant for them personally and for their careers.

Charlie Nunn, CEO at Lloyds Banking Group, said: “At Lloyds Banking Group, we want to support good, purposeful careers for our people.  So thank you to Henley Business School for supporting our apprentices every step of the way – this programme is an important investment in individual career journeys, and in the resilience of our business as a whole. We can’t wait to see what our apprentices go on to achieve and congratulate them on this important milestone on their journeys.”

Professor Elena Beleska-Spasova, Acting Dean, Henley Business School, said: “A special congratulations goes to all graduates. Lloyds Banking Group is one of the UK’s largest financial services organisations and one of Henley’s biggest corporate partners, with approximately 530 apprentices taken on since 2017. We know that through the continued support of their employer, this group will use the experiences, insights and connections gained at Henley to excel in their careers. No doubt they will go on to do great things.”

Lloyds Banking Group apprentices graduated from two programmes:

  • Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship | BA (Hons) in Applied Management

17 October 2022
In the past, many manufacturers regarded their suppliers with some suspicion, almost as adversaries. Little loyalty was shown to the suppliers; consequently, the supplier was never certain about their future relationship with an organisation. Often the purchasing or procurement department would see their role as screwing the best deal possible from a supplier.
