Description
This session will give you the heads-up about what we can expect to come down the economic tracks over the coming year – and what to look out for both personally and in your business. We will explore how money is ‘created’ and its impact on economic activity: what is termed ‘the economic hosepipe’.
The dramatic and almost insoluble issue of the demographic time bomb will be brought into sharp focus – also with thoughts and ideas about managing and leading Gen Z.
We will still not be sure how Covid will be affecting us, and so we will take a look at innovation and productivity post-Covid.
The session will close with a view of the key indicators of future activity as we move into the brave new year of 2024.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the session, you will have:
- a clear understanding of how the economy really works
- greater confidence in the meaning and use of economic data for business forecasts
- an increased ability to engage with clients, employees and customers on economic issues
Roger Martin-Fagg
After a degree in economics, geography and economic history Roger worked in the NZ Treasury. Then, back in the UK, he worked in economic forecasting for the air transport and travel industry. Roger changed career to become a lecturer, spending a number of years at an FE college and then 21 years at Henley Management College.
Now a freelance educator and behavioural economist, Roger focuses on what drives the numbers the media talk about.
*Up to 50 places per member organisation. 'Up to' indicates the maximum number per member organisation, it is not an allocation of places. All places are subject to availability at the time of booking.
