Information on our Greenlands-based graduation ceremonies for Henley Business School programme members

Greenlands Graduation Ceremonies 2025
The 2025 Greenlands graduation ceremonies will take place on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 September 2025 at Henley Business School, Greenlands campus, Henley-on-Thames.
Invitations and Registration
- Eligible students (completed programs between October 2024 and July 2025) will receive an invitation email by Friday 15 August 2025
- Invitations will be sent to the email addresses listed in your student record. Ensure your contact details are up-to-date
- If you haven't received the invitation by 21 August 2025, email graduation@henley.ac.uk.
- Register via the RISIS portal once you receive your invitation. Registration closes on Monday 25 August 2025 (11:59 BST).
Seats or wheelchair spaces can be reserved in the ceremony marquee for students or guests with disabilities or mobility challenges during the registration process. If not requested during registration, email the Graduation team at graduation@henley.ac.uk as soon as possible.

Key deadlines

Eligibility for Graduation
Graduation ceremonies at Henley Business School's Greenlands campus are for those who have completed a DBA, PhD, MA, MBA, MSc, PGDip, PGCert or a BA Apprenticeship programme. Students based at the Whiteknights campus should refer to the Graduation Office's website for relevant information.

On the Day
Arrival and Tickets
- Graduands: Arrive 90 minutes before your ceremony to collect guest tickets (location 1 on the Graduation map) and robes (location 13). Additional tickets (if available can be requested at the ticket collection point (limit: two per graduand, first-come, first-served)
- Guests: Proceed to the pre-ceremony marquee (location 5) while graduands collect their items. Ticketed guests may enter the ceremony marquee (location 3) 25 minutes before the ceremony, while non-ticketed guests can watch a livestream in the main house (location 12).
- Ceremony Duration: Each ceremony lasts 40-60 minutes.

What to wear
- Hire academic dress at least 10 days before your ceremony from Ede & Ravenscroft: www.edeandravenscroft.com/academic.
- Wear smart clothing under your gown (no jeans/trainers). Military or national dress is permitted.
- Leave personal items (e.g., bags, phones) with your guests, as they cannot be carried during the ceremony.

The Ceremony
- Graduands: You must be in the Processions Marquee (location 2) 45 minutes before the ceremony in your academic robes. Late arrivals after the marquee closes (30 minutes before) may forfeit participation.
- Graduands will be given instructions, line up in procession order, and be guided to their seats. Degrees will be conferred individually.
- Guests: Ticketed guests will be seated in the marquee (location 3). Non-ticketed guests can watch the livestream (location 12).
Processions and Presentation
- The Academic Procession and ceremonial Maces open the ceremony. Graduands are called in order by the University Orator, ascend the stage, doff their cap, collecting their certificate before returning to their seats.
- After all names are called, speeches by the Dean and Presiding Officer conclude the event. Graduates process out with the Academic Procession.
Livestream and Recording
- The ceremony will be streamed live. Attendance assumes consent for filming.

Travel and Parking
- Bus: The 850 bus service between High Wycombe and Reading stops outside the Greenlands campus. Details at the Carousel Buses website.
- Car: Parking is available on-site at the Greenlands campus, Henley-on-Thames. Use postcode RG9 3AU for navigation.

Food and Drink
- Teas, coffees, and soft drinks are available before the ceremony in the pre-ceremony marquee. Afterward, graduates and their guests can enjoy a complimentary buffet lunch in the Heyworth Room (location 8). Wine and champagne are available for purchase.

Souvenirs and Photography
- Purchase official Henley Business School merchandise from the HBS shop (location 6), and photography supplied by Ede & Ravenscroft (studio and ceremony) from stalls on the day (location 19 or 20) or online before graduation.
