Feeling Frazzled? You’re not alone.
Join us in a relaxed and understanding environment and simply speak openly without worrying about judgement among a group of people who understand how it feels to be frazzled, stressed, exhausted or just fed up! This is not a place where you need to answer “fine” if asked “how are you?” and you can help yourself to a free hot drink too!
These meetings differ from traditional social groups/coffee meetings. They are intended to provide opportunity for people who are feeling frazzled to share how they are feeling in a safe and understanding environment, and therefore follow a structure that helps give everyone a chance to participate.
We hope that everyone attending a Feeling Frazzled? Cafe meeting will find it a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. There are opportunities for people to socialise more generally (if you want to) before we start and afterwards. You can also stay afterwards to sit quietly and try a mindfulness exercise or two, play with some lego or listen to a guided meditation. Whatever you need to restore a greater sense of calm.
We appreciate that our name may be a bit confusing but no, we do not operate a cafe. We are a support group where you can grab a free hot drink too!
We open and close our meetings with brief mindfulness exercises to help everyone to be ‘present’ in the room and it gives people a taster if they want to try it, but that’s about it.
Feeling Frazzled Cafe meetings are not about therapy or offering solutions and may not be suitable for you if you are currently suffering from a severe mental health illness. Mind’s website offers contacts that might be a useful alternative.
This is a Henley Careers event designed to improve your resilience. It is open to all Henley Business School and ICMA Centre students. You can book your place on My Jobs Online.
