'Crafting Papers for Top-Tier Management Journals' Leadership, Organisations, Behaviour and Reputation Research Seminar

Professor Rofcanin is an Associate Editor at the Journal of Management Studies and Human Relations and a visiting professor at Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa (IESE) Business School in Barcelona, Spain. He earned his PhD from Warwick Business School at the University of Warwick. His research focuses on the intersection of work- and nonwork life, with implications for employees, employers and organisations.
The overall theme of his research adopts a critical lens to the bright and the dark side of various HR practices and proactive work behaviours. Some of the current projects focus on leisure crafting, playful work design, idiosyncratic deals, proactivity, wellbeing, exhaustion, burnout, and flexible work practices. He has published across a wide range of prestigious journals, including the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Journal of Management Studies, Human Relations, Human Resource Management (USA), the Human Resource Management Journal, the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology and the Journal of Vocational Behavior. He has edited three books on idiosyncratic work deals, human flourishing and healthy relations at work. He sits on the editorial boards of the major peer-reviewed journals.
The topic of this presentation is 'Crafting Papers for Top-Tier Management Journals'. Professor Rofcanin will give particular focus to Human Relations and the Journal of Management Studies. The seminar will focus on the following aspects of publication:
- Framing research questions and establishing the plot or storyline
- Rigorous theorising, with a strong theoretical foundation essential
- Strong argumentation and persuasion
- Deep engagement with the existing literature
The seminar will be held on 28 November 2024, 1:00pm, in room G04 of the Henley Business School building, Whiteknights campus.
